What Materials Does Wicked Edge Use in Their Products?
Sharpeners, Attachments, and Adapters:
We utilize 6061T6 aluminum and stainless steel for sharpener and adapters. Certain, non-load bearing parts on the 60 Series sharpeners are machined with Delrin to reduce friction and provide smoother movement.
Certain parts of the sharpeners (jaws, bases, etc.) and adapters are type 3 anodized to provide a super hard coating.
Handles:
Our abrasive handles are sonic welded together while our Diamond Stones are electroplated monocrystalline diamonds to an aluminum platen.
Stropping Compound:
All of our stropping compounds (pastes, emulsions, and sprays) are water based and use polycrystalline diamonds.
Lapping Films:
The Lapping Films are Mylar films that have been impregnated with monocrystalline diamond particles.
