Can the Wicked Edge Sharpen Serrated Blades?

Can the Wicked Edge Sharpen Serrated Blades?

Wicked Edge can sharpen a lot of blades, but can it sharpen serrated blades? The answer is 'kind of'.

The Convex Handles are able to retouch serrated edges and give them back their bite, but overuse will actually round those serrations and dull the blade. Luckily, serrated edges need very little in terms of resharpening since they tend to stay sharp for much longer than other blade types. The trick is the use your Convex Handles on the scalloped side of the knife. Use a coarser grit Lapping Film (15 - 30 grit), set your angle as low as you can without hitting the vise, and do 15-20 passes to retouch your edge. Then use a finer grit Lapping Film to knock off the burr on the other side.
Remember:
  1. Use light pressure
  2. Serrated edges don't need to be sharpened often, so only do it when it really needs it
  3. A few passes is all you need to bring back your edge
